Situated in Berlin’s trendy Weserstrasse bar district, Wax On has quickly gained recognition as one of Germany’s best bars under the creative direction of Damien Guichard. In typical Berlin fashion, the interior is dark, featuring handmade wooden furnishings. The approach is minimalist, with a concise menu on a single sheet of paper offering eight twists on classics, along with beer available on tap, a selection of natural wines by the glass, and a trio of non-alcoholic options. The basement serves as its laboratory, where cocktails are expertly crafted and garnished. A signature drink worth trying is the Go Apes, a delightful blend of rum, clarified banana juice, coffee distillate, and soda, served crystal clear. Even in the darkness of a Berlin night, this concoction transports you to the sunny Caribbean.
The Cambridge Public House, Hyacinthe Lescoet – Paris, France, December 5-6
Earning the No. 38 spot on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023, The Cambridge Public House in Paris’s Marais district combines the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of a pub with the expertise of a cocktail bar.
