Maldives to Celebrate Global Wellness Day 2025 with Focus on Reconnection

This year’s Global Wellness Day will take place on 14 June 2025, uniting communities across the Maldives and the world under the theme of reconnection. Marking its 14th edition, the not-for-profit movement continues to expand its reach, now celebrated across seven continents.

Founded in 2012 by Belgin Aksoy, Global Wellness Day is dedicated to promoting healthier, more mindful living. While global in scope, the initiative places strong emphasis on local engagement through grassroots activities and community-led events.

In the Maldives, the celebrations will be anchored by the five steps of #ReconnectMagenta: reconnecting with nature, with oneself, with family and friends, with longevity, and with the wider community. Events will be open to the public and can take place at home, in resorts, outdoors, or as part of organised group activities.

“Connection is at the heart of well-being,” said Julia Ivankovich, Global Wellness Day Ambassador for the Maldives. She highlighted that the Maldivian community has a unique opportunity to create experiences that reflect the country’s natural beauty and strong social bonds.

Building on last year’s theme #MagentaNature, this year’s programme will once again place a strong focus on families and outdoor activities. Joining the local effort is Adrianna Lawera, a Wellbeing Leadership Coach who has become a key supporter of the movement in the Maldives.

Organisers are encouraging individuals and organisations to participate however they can, whether through personal reflection or coordinated events. More details can be found on the official Global Wellness Day Maldives Instagram page: @globalwellnessday.maldives.
