Maldivian Starts Seasonal Flights from Shenzhen to Malé with Bangkok Layover

Maldivian, the national airline of the Maldives, has launched a seasonal flight service connecting Shenzhen, China, to Malé via Bangkok. The inaugural flight, which arrived in the Maldives on 9 July 2025, operated with a load factor of over 95 percent, reflecting strong demand for travel between the two countries.

The new route, served by Maldivian’s Airbus A320 aircraft, is part of the airline’s broader commitment to enhancing connectivity with China, a key tourism source market for the Maldives. This seasonal service offers travellers from southern China more convenient access to the Maldives’ luxury resorts and beaches during the peak travel period.
This addition builds on Maldivian’s existing operations to China, which include regular non-stop flights to Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu using its Airbus A330-200 wide-body aircraft.
