The capital city of the Maldives, Malé City is one of the smallest capital cities in the world with an area of 8.3 sqm. The island is also densely populated as one-third of the country’s population resides here. Encircled by seawalls, the city has no natural beach, and the streets are packed with buildings and paved roads.
